Parent Update (Sept 1)

Good Afternoon,

Kent Elementary School will be welcoming students back tomorrow, Tuesday, September 2. School doors will open with the bell at 8:35 a.m., and dismissal will be at 10:00 a.m. For bus students, morning pick-up will follow the regular schedule, and buses will depart the school at approximately 10:05 a.m. Parents may pick up their children at the back of the school or at their classroom’s outside door (on the intermediate side of the school). All returning students will begin the day in the classroom where they finished last June—so there are no changes to before- or after-school routines.

Please note that students will not need school supplies for the first day.

New students should arrive through the front doors near the office. They will spend the morning with Ms. Smith in the library. This arrangement will also be in place on Wednesday morning; students will move into classrooms once attendance has been taken on Wednesday.

Because we received many new registrations last week, students may not be placed in their permanent classrooms until later this week, or possibly early next week. Please check your email regularly for updates.

Kindergarten teachers are in the process of contacting families and will be meeting throughout the first week. September 8–12, Kindergarten students will attend from 8:35 to 11:50 a.m. Full days for Kindergarten will begin on Monday, September 15.
